Now I can walk to my grandma's house!

One dusky Saturday, my mum, cousin, uncles, aunts, brother and I went to my grandma's new house to have a celebration.

My grandma's new house wasn't far away from my house, so we walked there. Once we got there, I walked up the stairs and knocked on the big blue door. My grandma quickly came to the door and said, "Hello! Come inside and I'll put on a movie for you guys."

It was a two storey house. It was spacious and extremely high of the ground. There were two small bathrooms, three big bedrooms, a giant living room, a spacious garage and a back area to play in. After a tour of the house, I went inside and sat on the couch went inside and sat on the enormous couch.

I watched "Kung Fu Panda" and it was about a panda who knows really good Kung Fu. He defends his village from villains who tries to destroy it. However he doesn't fight solo, he fights with the Furious Five (a group of animal who does awesome Kung Fu). I really enjoyed the movie.

Then my cousin came into the living room and said, "Wanna play Hide and seek? your uncles and aunts are playing as well as me!" I agreed straight away and everyone joined us in playing Hide and seek.

One of my uncles demanded to be in so the rest of us hid from him. I hid in a shelf in a closet. It was so shadowy that I couldn't see anything and I could only feel the clothes in the closet. Then I heard, "Ready or not, here I come!" I quickly zipped my mouth and sat in the closet quietly.

Soon I heard my uncle call out, "Found you" and then I heard my aunt say, "I hid in a bad spot." So I guess my uncle found her.  Then I heard someone enter the room that I was in and they opened the closet door and said, "Found you!"  I got such a scare. After I stood up and I went searching for the others.

On the bright side I was the second one to be found so I wasn't the seeker in the next round.  (The rule of the game is that whoever is  found first is the seeker for the next round) We played man more games of hide and seek until we decided to call it a day.

After a while, grandma said it's dinner time and everyone came to the table to eat. I said the food grace and we ate. After that we enjoyed our scrumptious food. I had a hot dog and it was very yummy and also had some chips which were very hot. I had so much fun at my grandma's house.

My favourite part was when we played hide n seek. I liked it because it was entertaining and a bit scary at the same time.

Such a long day!

I can't wait! One bright saturday, my aunt, uncle, cousin and grandma came to pick me up to go over my cousin's house.

They came in a big black car. I quickly waved goodbye to my mum and dad and I hopped into my aunt's car. When we to my aunt's home, I went inside and I switched on the tv.

Image result for bedI watched a cartoon called Adventure time and it was about a boy named Finn who fights a lot of monsters. While I was watching tv, my cousin came and asked me to go outside once the program finishes.

When the cartoon finished, I went outside and my cousin and I played tag with his friends. We were playing outside on the grass. I was the first one in, so I ran and chased my cousin. I was running as fast as a cheetah and so I was able to tag him. A while later, my aunt told us to come inside because it was getting dark.

So I went inside slowly because I was tired from all the running. I had some fish and chips which was hot and tasty. I also had some strawberry ice cream which cooled me down.

Soon after we had something to eat, my cousin and I played Sack boy on the PS4. In this game you can create anything that you imagine. I made a house out of wooden planks and bricks. It was big and it was blue. We played until my aunt told us to go to bed because it was getting late. Then I had a big sleep.

My favourite part of the day was when I was playing tag. I liked it because it was fair and fun.

Happy birthday to you!

Image result for strawberry cakeOn a sunny Saturday my brother, mum, dad and I got ready for my dad's 30th birthday celebration.

The celebration started at three o'clock in the afternoon over at my big house. My dad was getting the barbecue while my mum prepared the plates, forks, spoons, bowls and cups. While I was helping my dad to cook the crispy beef, my aunt arrive with my cousin. They brought cooked meat patties with them.

A while later, everyone started to arrive. My aunts, cousins, uncles and grandma all came. Once everyone has arrived we stopped cooking the food and we all gathered around for me to say the food grace.
Afterwards, I got a wide plate and I put some sausages, potato salad and a piece of strawberry cake in my plate. They were all tasty and nice because I was hungry.

After I finished eating all the food on plate, I put on my green hat quickly so that my relatives and I can go to the park.

Once we were at the park I ran to the swings. I was swinging as high as I could. Then I went to the big slide and it was so much fun because I went down the slide as fast as a speeding bullet. Unfortunately soon it was time to for our guests to go so when I got home from the park, I waved goodbye to everyone.

My favourite part of the day was when I was eating all the yummy food because it was all so tasty.

Swimming is my favourite sport!

I'm so exited! On a hot sunny Saturday my grandma, aunt, baby cousin, cousin and I walked to the swimming pools in Panmure. We walked from our grandma's house to the pools and it took us 15 minutes to get to the pools.

When we got inside, we paid and received our wrist bands. I took off my watch and put it in a container so that I can pick it up when we leave.

I quickly put on my swimming clothes and dived straight into the warm pool. I was diving and floating in the water. While I was floating, my grandma told my cousin and I that we were going soon.

So I hopped out of the pool and went to the outside pool. When I jumped into the water the water was freezing cold so I jumped out of the pool like a cat in hot water. Step by step, I walked into the cold water until I got use to the water.

Soon my grandma called for us to get changed so that we could go and have some lunch. I ate some ham sandwiches and a chocolate smoothie. The chocolate smoothie was cold and the ham sandwiches were  yummy.

Unfortunately soon it was time to leave so I picked up my watch and my family and I waved goodbye as we walked out of the doors.

My favourite part was when I was swimming in the inside pools. I liked it because it was easier to swim in the warm water as it wasn't freezing cold.

I like disco lights!

On the weekend, my mum, brother and I went to pick up my cousin at his house.

We picked him up because we were having a special celebration for my other cousin’s last game of the year for his rugby league team.  When I got to his house, my mum and my brother waited in the car quietly.

I was just about to knock on the door when my cousin opened the door. He came out with his mum and said very loudly, “Bye mum!” Then I walked back to my car while chatting with my cousin.

Afterwards, my mum said that we needed to do some shopping for the party. So we went and bought some delicious food for the party. We bought some lollies and already baked chicken drumsticks. Next we went back home because some of the food that we had bought was for ourselves.

When we got home, my cousin and I grabbed his ball which he had left at my house from our last sleepover.  After a while we went back to the car to help mum to carry our shopping into the house.

After that, it was finally time to walk to the party. I didn't know where it was held at but luckily my mum knew, it was in a rugby league club which was very close to our house, so we decided to walk there. Eventually we got there but we had to wait in a really long line to reach my cousin because there were a lot of people there already.

Finally, we paid two dollars to enter the room. We got a star stamp on our hand, so that if we went outside we could show our stamp to go  back in. Once I walked inside there were a lot of people dancing to the D.J’s music. Colourful lights shone around the rugby club room. It looked really cool because it matched the beats. While I was dancing to the cool beat, my uncle arrived. I said, “Isn’t it awesome!” and my uncle replied,
“Yes!”  I smiled and I went back to the disco floor and continued to dance.

Hours later, a voice came over the radio and it said, “Sorry, the disco is about to finish.” So My mum, cousin, uncle and I went to pack up our things to go home. I had a long and fun day at the disco that day and I hope that I could go to a disco again soon.

My favourite part was when I was dancing in the disco light. I liked it because it was fun.

Learning Intention: We are learning to use descriptive language in our writing.

Troll Quest is a tricky game!

I can’t wait! I woke up on Saturday morning and I made my brother and I some breakfast to eat. I prepared some warm weetbix and I did that by boiling the jug and then adding in some hot water into the weetbix. Then I added some milk and sugar to make it sweet. My brother liked it very much because he was smiling!

After breakfast, my mum and dad woke up and said loudly, ‘‘Good morning!’’  My brother and I greeted them back and then we went to brush our teeth.  Then I stayed in my room and read a book because I was bored and cold.  The book was called Geronimo Stilton and The Halloween Invitation.

I liked it because it was spooky and there was a twist at the end because there was a clown and they had to find out which one of the mice was the clown thief. It was quite a small chapter book so I had finished reading it by ten o'clock. I thought about what to do after I read the book and that’s when writing a book review popped into my head. So I ran and got a pencil and a piece of paper and started writing my book review.

Once I had finished with the book review, I put it in my drawer so no one would be able to touch it. Then I went to my mum, dad and my brother who were all watching the television quietly.  They were watching a rugby game. While they were watching the game, my cousin arrived at my house for a sleepover that night, bringing his food and sleeping bag. We played a game on the PS3 console called street fighter.

My cousin was really good at the game because he kept on winning using special powers. A while later, my mom said that we could use the computer, so we watched youtubers playing games and then we played a game called Roblox. There were more than 100 mini games on Roblox. I played a tycoon, which was called Dantdm’s tycoon lab.

While I was playing roblox, I remembered that I still needed to do my homework so I let my cousin have a turn and I went to do my homework. My homework was Xtramath and Read Theory. After that, I wrote it in my notebook so I can show my teacher that I had done my homework. Then my cousin called me to go over to him just as I put my notebook into my bag.

When I went to them, I noticed that they weren't playing Roblox, but they were playing one of my favourite computer games called Troll Quest. What I love about the game is that it’s funny and the answer to the levels are not as easy as you think it is. While we were playing troll quest, my uncle (who is 12 years old) came over to tell us that there will be a party at my house at 6 o’clock.  My family nodded our heads and said, “Yes!” Then I asked my mum and dad if I could go on my uncle's bike to his house straight away because by then it was already 5 o’clock.

My parents said, ‘‘Yes.’’ So my uncle and I went on the bike to his house. I stood on the back pedals to get there. When we both got there, I saw a lot of balloons and paintings of old singers like Elvis. When the party started, I was dancing to tap music. Unfortunately soon we had to leave early from the party, but I wasn't sure why.
When I got home, I drifted off to sleep very quickly.

My favourite part of the day was when I was playing Troll Quest.

I liked it because it was really fun.Image result for bmx bikes

I can't wait to go to the art gallery again!

I'm so excited! On Sunday, my mum and I got up at seven o’clock in the morning to attend the mass at St. Patrick’s church.

We took our time and caught the bus at 8:20am. Unfortunately our bus was late so we were late for church. When I hopped on the bus, I noticed that there were a few people on it already. We decided to sit at the front of the bus.

When we were close to our destination, I pressed the button to signal the driver to stop the bus at the next bus stop. I scanned my bus card at the machine to tag off. When we have finally reached church, we heard Father Michael talking, so we walked into church quickly and quietly. Then my mum and I saw my aunt, cousin and grandma. We both sat with them and listened to Father.

When mass ended, my mum and I went to holy communion. We showed our homework to the teacher and said a karakia. Then we sang a song called “God is”. After that, we talked about our goals journeying with God.

After Sunday school, my mum, cousin and I caught a double-decker bus and we sat at the top of the bus to go the city so that we could visit the Auckland Art Gallery. We went to the South America Space to look at the Dream Exhibition. We also met up with my mum’s friend. We got wristbands to put on and a map to show us where to go around the gallery.  We walked up the stairs and went into the first room. There were pictures of old artists and videos. Next we went to a room labelled,  “Silent Art Work”. There was only a video of a boy brushing his teeth with a loud noisy background.

Image result for pickaxeThe next room had  three sculptures of three people. One was holding a drill, another one was holding a hammer and the last one was holding a pickaxe. My favourite sculpture was the one with the pickaxe because he was posing like he's mining something. I also saw a book on the table with pictures. They were pictures of houses, people and stars that were drawn by a famous artist.

Then there was a hallway which led to a place for people who had wristbands. We had wristbands so we were allowed to take a look. When we first walked inside, we saw masks that looked like monkeys. My favourite mask was coloured black and I liked it because it had a mirror where when you looked into the eyes of the mask, you could see the reflection of your eyes.

Then in the second room, there was a small fountain that was made out of real clean dog bones. On the right of the room, there were a lot of beads and they formed the shape of a tongue. While we were looking at it, a man walked in and said that there will be a lady performing in ten minutes.

We were quite far away from where the performance was going to be so we rushed to get there. We made it just in time and we saw a lady in a blue dress dancing.  When the dance ended, she asked everyone to stand up and dance with her. I was a bit embarrassed because I'm not very good at dancing but it was a lot of fun.
After a little while, I asked my mum for permission to play in the kids room and she said, “Yes.” There were blocks that we could use to build with in the kids’ room. I built a tower and it was blue and tall. Soon we had to go back to my mum and her friend because the day was about to end. So my mum, her friend and my cousin caught the elevator down to the first floor and walked to the train station which was two streets away.

When we got off the train, we said, ‘“Bye!” to my mum’s friend and caught the bus to my aunt's house to drop off my cousin.  Then we finally caught the bus home.

My favourite part of the day was when I played in the kids’ room because I liked it because my tower looked really awesome.

Learning intention: We are learning to understand and use descriptive language.

I can't wait to go to church next Sunday!

On a sunny Sunday, My mum and I waited at the bus stop for the bus because we were going to church.

A few minutes later, we saw our bus turn around the corner and it stopped in front of us. When  the bus came, my mum and I stopped the bus and hopped on. When we were almost there, my mum woke me up to press the button to stop the bus. We hopped off and walked into church quietly.

I sang wonderful songs with my mum during mass and I saw some of my friends there as well! Father read a pray about Jesus and also people were talking about God. Then the congregation drank and ate the bread and the wine. After that I prayed for my family and friends before church ended.

Soon after, I went to holy communion and some of my friends were involved as well. We talked about God and asked a lot of questions. Then we ended our day with a lovely karakia. We had to practise praying all the the prayers that were on the paper given to us for homework last week.

Then I went with my aunty to drop my mum off to the city. It was a long ride but my cousin and I made the ride fun by telling stories and jokes. Later on I went over to my aunt’s home for lunch before I was dropped off home. I ate some sandwiches and It was very delicious. I had a lot of fun on Sunday and my favourite part of the day was when I was at church because I felt blessed.

Have you played a netball game before?

Today is Friday, Room 7 and I stood in front of our netball coach (Tina) and her sister for our last Netball session.

We were split into two groups. I was the goal attack and my team was called the Dab. Before we started our game of Netball, we all got in a small little circle and cheered for our team! I stood behind the line at the end of the court with one of the other team’s player (Goal Defence).

First, our team had the ball so we kept on passing the ball until our Goal Shoot went for a shot, but unfortunately we missed.  Then the other team went to pass the ball but fortunately one of our players blocked the other team from getting the ball and passing the ball to their Goal Shoot then goal shoot went for the shoot and got it in.

Then it was half time went and I gave my position to my friend and I watched them.  Sadly meanwhile when they were playing the other class came. So we had to stop and said our full team name which was the seven stars. It was a short game but it was fun because we used all our skills that we learnt to v.s each other in game.

My favourite part of the day was when we had keep passing the ball.
