What do you interpret from his message?

Today I analysed the message of pope Francis for Advent.
The below is my interpretation of his message.

At the Domus Sanctae Marthae,
On December fourth during a morning mass pope Francis made a homily about advent.
From what I've seen I think Pope Francis is basically
saying that advent is to make friendships not enemies. Not make war, but peace.
Pope said that the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb and what I think
he's saying is that you should invite everyone.

An Invitation to Blog about Playing ‘Astria – Countdown to Impact’

A student has commented that....

"Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I disagree with this statement and I have evidence to show this helps your development in school

Firstly, it helps you asses the situation and help you read the key points. This can help when reading stories and trying to answer in the right way.

This experiment was dangerous!

Where's the bus?

The year seven and I rushed into our seats and we started with our day. Our
first experiment was to inflate our balloon by using heat energy. We got a tripod,
meths burner, ice cube, flask, gauze mat and matches.

We first had to light our meths burner and we had to put a tripod under it.
We put our gauze plate on top of the tripod. We got hand ice and we were told
to put it into the flask. But there was a problem.

We couldn't get the icecube in the flask. So we had to use hands to rub the ice
cube until it melts. I got paper towels and put it under my friends hand while he
was rubbing the ice between his hand. We then tried to put the ice cube in the
flask. IT WORKED!

We then stretched the balloon. We then put a balloon over it and put the flask
onto the GAUZE mat. With the lit burner the ice turned in to water which then turned into steam.

The steam went to the air and inflated the balloon. Reason being because the
cold air was warmed by the heat making steam. Steam filled the balloon and
inflated it.

We then took the balloon of and the experiment was finish.

This experiment was fun but indeed dangerous.

My interpretation of the treaty of waitangi

W.A.L.H.T: We are learning about the treaty of Waitangi

On February 6 1840 The Maori people and the British people declared peace by signing a treaty. The treaty was signed by over 500 Maori chiefs and many British people. It was signed at a place in New Zealand called Waitangi. Every year when it is February 6 people celebrate it.

When the British people came to new zealand they were armed with muskets. With this they could win any battle because the maori people didn't have a strong weapon against the british people. So the maori began trading for muskets giving the british people food. This also began a fight called the musket war. People in New Zealand fought with other people to take there items. Over 20000 people died in the musket war.

The British people bought illnesses which was bad for the Maori people because they had no cure back then. The British people also bought alcohol which also caused many fights. These things including the muskets made the population of the people in new Zealand go down in the 18s.

This was a argument between the British people (Including the queen) and more than 500 Maori chiefs. Whalers came with their crew to New Zealand because they had to hunt for seals and whales. British people came to buy land in New Zealand for them to live in. Missionaries came

James Busby was the one to come up with the Treaty of Waitangi. New Zealand's high quality wood was cut down by the French and British who keep yelling "Timber!" to import and trade away to places like Australia, this made Maori people very angry.

The Treaty would be a good thing for the natives so that the Maori are given freedom and they are able to control New Zealand. Some Pakeha would hunt birds by shooting them with their muskets to obtain their skin and meat for trading and food. Some Pakeha would ruthlessly attack Maori and kill them. There were two treaties. One was a english translation and the other one being a maori translation.

Missionary taught Maori people how to read and write in their culture. Missionaries wanted to stop whalers illegally attacking ancient whales and fishes.
