Have you been to Auckland city limits?

weekend
I'm so excited! Today is Saturday and my mum,her friend and I went to a music festival called Auckland city limits.

There were stations of activities for people to participate in.  Our station was called Art station. We got there at 9.30 so we could set up the art wall. We drew some pictures on the art wall so when the Auckland city limits start at 11 will be ready for the children to paint.

When it started, there were quite a lot of people. However I felt that it was boring so I told my mum that I will go and watch the performance that is happening in front of all the stations.

The performance was called Roald Dahl. All the stories were poems. While a lady read the poems, I played on the drums. After that I went back to the art station to help

Soon it was lunch time. My mum and I walked into the festival and we ordered hot dog and hot chips. I saw a lot of people at the concert.

Then we went back to the art station and I wanted to have a try painting on the wall. I used the colours blue and black to paint with. I painted my name and painted a green Ararat. I saw a lot more people painting this before we realized it and it was mostly children painting.

Soon it was five o'clock and it was time to pack up and I really enjoyed my day at Auckland city limits.

My favourite part of the day was when I was listening to Roald Dahl's poems. I liked it because the poems were very funny.

Learning intention: We are learning to write a recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use the structure of a recount, orientation, followed by the events and then a conclusion about my weekend at Auckland city limits.

  1. Wow Xavier, I really enjoyed your story of the Auckland City Limits. I am glad that you liked the performance of the Roald Dahl's poems. I had a great day spending it with you and that you were able to have fun at the festival as well.
